GPS ROUND 4 - CHANGE OF VENUE NOTICE
We wish to inform all Competitors, Participants, Photographers, Suppliers and Officials (the Stakeholders) that it has been decided to relocate GPS Round 4 from Swan Hill Kart Club to Eastern Lions Kart Club. Background for the Change Recently, Swan Hill Kart Club undertook repairs to their track surface. Regrettably these repairs have not been carried out by the contractor to the standard expected by the Club and have rendered the track unusable for competition.
It was acknowledged by the Swan Hill Kart Club Executive Committee that attempting to run a competitive event under the current conditions had the potential to damage the reputation of both Swan Hill Kart Club and the Golden Power Series. The Swan Hill Kart Club Committee contacted both Karting Victoria and the GPS Committee with a proposal was to relocate the Round to Eastern Lions Kart Club and at a joint meeting last night this was agreed to by all parties in the best interests of the sport and the series.
Any disappointment the reader may feel and any inconvenience the reader may perceive both pale into insignificance when compared to the disappointment felt by the Swan Hill Kart Club and its members, especially since this circumstance has been created through no fault of their own.

'SHKC MEMBER' JOBE FORSTER CLAIMS VICTORY!
By Ben Caruso.
At the 2024 Sun Centre Titles and 4SS State Trophy, Local Member Jobe Forster claims first-ever open victory at his home track in the Cadet 12 division. Saturdays heavy fog delayed the first day of the event for nearly an hour, which gave participants extra time to prepare their karts.
Saturday Qualifying saw Rafael Busuttil take pole just six-one-hundredths of a second ahead of Jobe Forster to settle the front row of the grid ahead of the remaining four in the six-participant grid. In Heat 1, Forster claimed victory by almost half-a-second ahead of Koa Patten with Busuttil finishing up in third. Heat 2 finished the day with Forster again snatching victory ahead of Patten and Busuttil, with an unfortunate DNF from Blake Germanchis.
In Sundays Heat 3 a reshuffle during racing sees Forster take victory followed by Flynn Patterson and Germanchis. A mid-race collision saw Patten having to retire from the race. The Final race with near-perfect conditions saw Forster claim victory and his track PB of 38.978, followed by Busuttil and Patten to round off the final standings.
Jobe's father and club President said "As a father it is really great to see him doing well....He's done a lot of laps on his own at our track, and he really just dominated the weekend."
"He hasn't been competing for a huge amount of time; he's probably only been in the sport for two and a half years."
